In the wake of the violent murder of George Floyd, we are reminded that we are a confederation- a partnership of individual groups, united for purposes of common action. Our strength lies in our diversity and when one group in our partnership is experiencing pain and anger, we must come together to seek actions of positive change.
We would like to express our solidarity with the Black community and acknowledge the discrimination and oppression that individuals of colour have experienced and continue to experience. We implore allies to educate themselves on the anti-Black racism that exists within the world and to continue to support diversity and inclusion through their own actions.
CLAMPS will be making a donation to a group whose goals align with addressing systemic racism. We have listed a number of places to donate if you are able. As well, please find below some resources that may act as a starting point to educating yourselves on the Black racism that is prevalent in our world.
